I need to buy a good capture card. I am tired of getting everything at half resolution.

This is what I want, I don't know if it's possible with what I want to spend.

I want to be able to capture:
at least 640x480 30 fps
and get 44khz/16 bit stereo

I want to keep it around or below $250, but I guess I am flexible.

If anybody has an recommendations, please...

I would go with the Studio DC-10+ by Pinnicle systems, it is a lower end card but is able to capture full res video (640 X 480, 30 fps) If you have at least a Ultra DMA Hard Drive it works fine. That is probly the best way to go for the price range, even though for $800.00 you could get the Miro DC-30+ (it is a much better card, and comes with Adobe Premiere software)

i have a miro dc30+ and it is a very good card. No dropped frames, or bad resolution. full screen resolution in fact.

I checked out the DC10+. It looks good, the only question I have is: it says it captures with motion JPEG.
I just want to find out... is this a compression format?

Also other recommendations on cards are still welcome

Patboy, (and anyone else that has the DC-30)
Have you ever had any problems with your DC-30?? I am considering getting it and would like to know from people who have it what kind of system they have set up for their DC30 and if anyone has ever had any problems etc. Also, is it easy to install? Does it capture very good sound quality? Thanks.
