I have been looking at the voodoo3500 video card. It has a composite input and output. 16 megs avi and mpeg capture. And an mpeg2 editor. I just wanted to see if anybody knew if this is a good deal for amateur filmmaking. It runs about $250.------------------ What lurks just beyond the corners of the light? .... I do. |

The voodoo chipset is awesome for 3D but it has been known for only reasonable 2D. So I would doubt it's ability as a capture card but you never know. I didn't know they had composite in though, thought it only came with TV In/Out. |

looks as though it has composite in on their site, what with the digital vcr claims and such, and their stand alone tv tuner card has composite in, so one would assume the tv tuner type stuff on the 3500 would also have composite, ey? the tuner also has svideo if Im not mistaken.[This message has been edited by Ivan (edited 11-22-1999).] |

I guess it is full functioning but I still question the quality. |

Theoetically, if it has tv in/out it can take composite. The card I use now is a tv card and I am instructed to set it on composite for vcr's camcorders and the like. I think composite only denotes the type of input(a/v) adapters. |

I purchased the 3DFX VooDoo 3500 TV video card and took it back the very next day! That card sucks so bad I can't believe they would even bother to market it. The video capture is limited to 320x240 resolution. So, if you want to make any halfway decent films, forget it.For the same price, however, you can purchase ATI's All-In-Wonder Pro AGP 32Mb 128bit card. I have the All-In-Wonder Pro AGP 8Mb card and it walks all over the VooDoo 3500 TV. |
