i have the dc10, and seem to be having a slight issue with capturing. (yes, i have the newest drivers). When i capture at the highest setting, with the data rate all the way up, my captured video is choppy and contains many errors, as well as dropped frames. can someone tell me why this is happening? can someone also explain to me what a higher/lower data rate does, exactly? if it helps, im running a p3 500, 96 megs, 17 gigs. thanx

It sounds like you have a slow hard drive. If you're going for the maximum datarate (3:1 @ 640x480) then make sure you have a fast hard drive, something like a 7200rpm ATA or UDMA/66. There's a great program that comes with the DC10+ that may help you out. Goto Start --> StudioDC10+ --> Tools --> miroVideoEXPERT. Run the test and you'll get full results displaying your maximum read and write speeds. Hope this helps. | |
