Whats the best equipment for a new comer.

A new corner? Or computer? If your going for a new corner I would do it in marble, it would look GREAT in your new kitchen... ummm.

As for a new COMPUTER get the best you can get. Id go for a dell (www.dell.com). COnfigure up a p3 800, 512 ram, 40 gig 7200 rpm HD, and a nice 21in "old fashion" monitor.

minidv and studiomax. I want to know what
your using. Whats the best money-wise? 'Cause I'm still in regular video and this digital stuff sounds awesome!

If you need everything, not just the editing part, make sure to go with a firewire camera and a Canopus DV Raptor or DV Rex editing system, they also have a while system called the Rex Rack. Firewire will give you incredible performance. Since you read this FX forum, sound quality is probably not the most important thing, so check out some digital8 cameras and the sony TRV line.
