Hey i am having a problem capturing audio with my firewire card. The video captures great and the first 10 seconds of audio also captures good but after that the audio starts to skip and replay some parts. Could it be that i dont have enough memory or my hard drive isnt fast enough or is there some kind of setting that i can change so it will capture the full audio.

I don't use firewire, but here's what it sounds like to me:
Your hard drive can't keep up with the transfer. You might need to buy a bigger faster drive. I've done a wee bit of research on www.pricewatch.com and the 20.4 GB 7200rpm drives seem to have the best prices for their value. Check 'em out.

This is what I did, but what you do with the settings on your computer is soley up to you.

Enable DMA for an Ultra DMA hard drive.

Step 1
------
Go to settings then control panel from the start menu.

step 2
------
Dbl click on the system icon and then Device Manager tab. Then you should see "Disk drives".
click on it once.

Step 3
------
Highlight the IDE entry that represents your hard disk drive and click the properties button.

Step 4
------
Select the Settings tab, check the DMA box and click the OK button to save your changes.
Restart you computer.

Note: Only make changes to your computer settings if you know what you are doing.

You can also look for updates on the drivers used by the capture card, it might help.

What type of FireWire card do you have? What program are you capturing with?

Most likey this problem is either a bad driver installation, or your HDD cannot sustain a fast enough bit rate. For FireWire captures, your HDD must be able to sustain at least 5.5MBs/Second. Most FireWire cards will need even more than that.
