I have a project that I did with Premiere. It has more than 180 clips, some of them including effects that had to be rendered. I had to remove the first minute of footage from the timeline. Now there is a large space at the beginning of the timeline. I need to know how to move the entire project left on the timeline so that the project starts right away instead of having that one minute of "nothing" I can not find a way to select all of the clips and slide them over. The project is too complicated to manually slide down every single clip individually. Is there a way to delete the blank area of the timeline so that the rest of the project will automatically slide over without compromising any of my edits??? To complicate things a bit more, I have video on several different levels (video1 video1 etc..). I also have sound on different levels too. Any suggestions??[This message has been edited by morpherguy (edited 02-16-2001).] |

In the timeline press M and use that tool to select your clips and then drag the selected clips where you want them ------------------ fxscooby DreamFX |

or just adjust the length of the work area bar above the time line then from the options select "work area" as opposed to entire timelinel T ------------------ What everyone seems to forget is that once we look past race, religion, gender, and all that, everyone on this planet is first and foremost... ...a PERSON new and improved links(added to 02/11/01) |

This is really driving me crazy. I can select the entire project and move it to the right but it will not go to the left. It seems like such a simple thing. I pressed M which activated the selection button. Each time I pressed it, it went to a different selection option so I tried them all but none of them would allow me to move the project to the left. |

zoom out so you can see the whole project and then select all the clips, then zoom in so that you can clearly see the minute of emty timeline and them move the selected are. You should be using the emty square looking tool.------------------ fxscooby DreamFX |

i think you want to use the "Ripple Delete" function in one of the menus. select the blank area first of course. |

Hey guys, thanks for the advise!! I will try the other things you mentioned later on in the day. I hate to sound like such a Premiere cripple but a new problem has come up. In the transition part of the timeline some of my transitions have turned invisible but they are still there. I need to delete them but there is nothing there to delete except a thin line that represents te beginning of the trans, one that represents the middle of the trans and one that represents the end of the trans. Something happened when I was trying to move the project to the left on the timeline. All of my edits are still in tact but for some reason some of the transitions went into some kind of a ghost mode. I wouldn't mind except that when I was sliding the project around, the transitions got out of sync with there intended use. All I really need to know is why the transitions turned invisible and why I can not delete or move them.. Any suggestions?? My manual does not mention this situation anywhere.. |
