i've posted some test renders of a syringe i made in 3D Studio MAX 3. the tech info is: - 500 MHz AMD K6-3D - 192 MB SDRAM - Reflections, refractions, and shadows are all raytraced. I disabled anti-aliasing, self reflect/refract and two-sided under raytrace to keep render times down. there's two more at http://www.sketchsdomain.com/images/, but they're not as good as these. comments appreciated.------------------ Monkey Sea Entertainment - renovated as of January 2001 ------------------------- Moviemakers Portal (moviemaking-only search engine) [This message has been edited by sketchman (edited 02-18-2001).] |

Good job, I'd say. The great rendering/texturing in MAX really helps, but I would make the needle itself more reflective with a black base color. Otherwise... very realistic. Don't point it anywhere near me! Isaiah ------------------ Isaiah Eyre, Sound Guy "I don't know anything about music. Nice pic and you could make it nicer with global illumination. To simulate GI for your shot make a "dome" of lights. It will help reduce jaggy's and also make the most of the shadows and reflective surface. Also add some self illuminated boxes to give the reflections some life. There is a free plug in to make light domes available from Harald Blab I think.Chimp |
