I am trying to do an explosion from a rocket launcher and its rocket hitting the ground and want to create the effect of the rocket hitting and exploding. How can I do this WITHOUT 3D rendering an explosion and for FREE, in POST? I was thinking stock footage of an explosion, similar to the way you would do a muzzle flash except the explosion would be animated? Does anyone know where I could get this stock footage free?
Also I need sound effects for num-chucks because I have a fight with them. I have good punch sounds but would like some specific sounds for them. Does anyone have some, or know exactly where I could get them (not the site but the exact page of a site or something?) Making them is not an option as my equipment sucks and there is no way I am spending money to do it as I am broke, I suck at making sounds, etc... so don't suggest making my own I have tried it before it went horrible, so yeah, pre-made only.
Thanks guys.

I dunno where you could find some realistic explosion footage for free. I've been looking for that recently, but I haven't come across smth satisfactory, yet. You can find some free footage using altavista, for instance, but quality sucks and you cannot use it.

I know that you can buy ReelExplosion footage by the piece (http://www.artbeats.com/store). It should cost you about) $24 for an explosion, I guess. (Hope it's still true).

If you're looking for punch sounds, go buy 10$-CD called 'Totally gross sound f/x from hell' (available at http://www.cdnow.com). It has a lot of punch sounds, head crushes and whathever you may need.

If you don't worry too much about quality, you may want to check out http://www.wavplace.com. But I guess there are some copyright issues here (both the CD and the explosions from artbeats contains royalty-free stuff, which may not be the case of the sounds you come across on wavplace (some of them being excerpts from blockbuster movies)...

Hope this helps.

There are some free footage at my site (but be WARNED they are submitted to me and some I think are from the artbeat cd, so use them only for personal use since they might be copyright or something). Or you could ask someone here to make one for you in a 3D program and use that as the footage.
