i don't know why everyone thinks this is such a great capture card. i bought one this weekend. got it home, installed it, and found...the whole video editing feature is complete trash, and it takes forever to import files (scene detection? yeah right) and render them!!

on top of that, you can't capture with any other codec but that HORRIBLE motion jpeg nonsense, and you can't even capture with another codec, this one is forced upon you!

it won't even let me export anything to vcr. everything has to use that godawful codec.

tell me, why is this card so popular when everything it spits out looks like complete trash???

i'm going back to my ati tv card...no video out, but at least the capture and editing is 100x better.

You are not forced to use Studio DC10+'s software. When I had the card (I switched to DV now) I used MSP.
It is too bad you can only use that compressor, but every Pinnacle analogue capture card only lets you capture with that codec.

As for your problem about exporting to your VCR, it always worked for me.

Its a very good card.

If you know how to use it, that is.

Capturing at 3:1:1 is not trash at all.

You dont have to use the provided software, which I will admit is not very good. So what!

Motion JPEG is a very good codec, and you can save your movie file in any other codec from within the Studio program.

Obviously, if many people love this card, and you hate it, there must be something wrong other than the card.

And David, lets hope the ATI 64 MB DDR Radon is better, considering then huge difference in prices the two cards have!

I think the DC10+ is fine! I use it with MSP and it captures great quality, though i haven't tried output yet. There is nothing wrong with it!
