my laptop recently went corrupt so i decide to format the hard drive and start fresh. formating froze. nothing happen and then shut off. i then performaned scan disk. it made got up to 120 bad sectors. so i stopped scandisk. what should i do let it keep going. is there anything else to do. that wont cost its replacement?

If anything is that bad it is usually major especially on a laptop. You could just get a new hard-drive but laptops tend to only take specific kinds and it might be hard finding one. The best plan is to take it to the company you got it from becuase it can be more than your hard-drive that is screwed up it could be your motherboard and quite a few other things too and they are the only ones who would have all the parts. If the company can't fix it, than it is preaty much a door stop.
