I have decided that, for a a music video, it would not be possible for me to record a timelapse so I want to create one in MAX. Cana someone please help/post a sunrise they have done. Thanks.

why can't you do it time lapse. personally, i think it'd be easier than in MAX. you can't really make a realistic sunrise in 3D (well, pros can).

TL is just taking a shot every so often over a period of time, making a CG time lapse isnt really the same thing, but it's easy. just get the animation how you want it go into the track view and adjust the length of everything, or rescale time. maybe render every 3rd frame or something

and getting a good CG looking sunrise would require a radiosity plugin probably, $$$ for that.

Depending on where you want the sunrise to occur you might not need to use radiosity. If it's a classic landscape shot then no. If it's in town through building s and stuff then yes. Radiosity rendering can be simulated with careful placing of lights. Use a bezier controller in track view and chain all the lights to the same controller.

Don't waste you time modelling the landscape if you aren't going to be up to scratch. Use a still or from the angle you want the shot and use matte objects to simulate the lanscape. Gives realistic shot with realistic lighting and no heavy modelling skill needed.
