That's the post where the guy did the wire stunt.
I'm not trying to start a debate, I just was thinking about it, and is this technically against the guidelines?
And you know how we strike down ripping sounds and stuff from movies, but we can post trailers where we did so, which is kind of the same thing here.
I don't think it should not be closed or anything, just some random thoughts. I'll always strike down wirework or pyro.
Like I said, I'm not on the wirework side, but when you have insomnia like I do, you think about lots of things.

I agree with FX Man on that issue. I dont nesecarilly breaks the rules of posting, but I do feel that it encourages people to try it. I think FX MAN made the right choice by locking it. He couldnt really have deleted it, because as we both agree, it doesnt directly break the posting rules.

Hey Tonka and all,

Well the post TECHNICALLY WAS against the guidelines insofar as the discussion of the subject matter was concerned ONLY if it was seeking advice on how to do it and someone responds with foolish, inexperienced ways of doing it. But the post was discussing the effect that had ALREADY been done. And I couldn't justify deleting it. So I left it to Dale to decide. I suppose he did since it is still closed. I've come to realize that regardless of what the rules here are, people are going to be foolish enough to try things they're not qualified to do. And I don't care about that at all. If they are going to do it, they're going to do it. We can't control what they do. BUT we CAN control the discussion of it when it jepoardizes the board or Dale's legal liability.

As well there is another post I think I saw that IS seeking ways to do some kinds of combat stunts that takes stunt people who know what they're doing to do well and properly. But I've finally come to the point that if people want to get the crap beat out of themselves, I don't care - let them if they think they're that indestructible. But when it crosses the lines too far and puts Dale and this board in jeopardy, I WILL shut them down. So far, that other post doesn't go quite that far. But as soon as it does, watch it slam shut.

Cool, FXMan.
Yeah, you should shut that one down when it goes too far.

For the insistently thinking impaired, there are plenty of websites that contain all sorts of dangerous and foolhardy information and misinformation, including bomb making and other dangerous information

People can and do decide to do all sorts of unwise and illegal things, and what they do outside these forums is none of our concern, but the liability of LAS level is our concern. One way to remove most of the liability factors for LAS would be to make it a completely private (viewable only to members) resource with paid memberships for people 18 years and older. At this point, Dale would like to keep LAS as accessible to as many people as possible, including people of any age who are not members who simply like to stop by and read. Since those people enter into no agreement in joining, they represent the greatest liability of all.

Those of you who would prefer it to be a paid adults-only resource are always free to email Dale and let him know what you think.
