YAAAYYY!!! I've been working on this animation for a contest for the past two months, and It's finally done!

It was a LOT of fun to make. I've been fascinated with animation since I was five, but this is the first "real" animation I've ever done. (That's why it took 2 months!) There are 280 individual hand-drawn pictures, all scanned into the computer and colored in one by one in Photoshop. I'm really happy with it! (Can you tell? )

You can download it here.. Copy and paste it into your address box. http://theandyape.topcities.com/c-animation1.avi
It's only 800 kilobytes, and it's in DivX codec.

BTW, there are a few minor skips and glitches in it that're a result of me attempting a low-quality transfer. They're not part of the actual animation.

EDITED-
I forgot to explain the reason I chose that particular idea/scenario. It was required in the contest that the main premise be "a character you've created comes onscreen, looks up, and jumps out of the way as a large egg falls from the sky and breaks. You decide what happens next".
Not what I woulda chosen, but oh well..

Mr. Hutt... that's...astounding. Have you been studying this stuff your whole life or what? That beats anything I ever did. Very VERY well done. Now I feel inferior!

Great animation! I can totally understand why it took you so much time. I'm impressed by how fluid the animation is.

Hey there. I love the animation, but I cant stand the fact it's silent. I was bored, so I decided I'd play around with it, and I got this groovy little jingle that goes pretty good with it. Hope thats ok.

I put it in my account at http://www.idrive.com

In the main page, there is somthing that says visitors. type in donaldwhalen, then click visit.

there should be somthing that says storage, and directly below that is somthing that says c-animation1withmusic.zip . CLick that, and download it.

Then you're set.

Wow, that was great! Did you just find that music somewhere, or did you play it yourself? It fits perfectly!

Wow Mr.Hutt that was jawsome. I hope you win the contest man. The best of luck to you and your robot/egg creatures which I have nicknamed Sal and Oot.

"The normal question...the first question is always 'Are these cannibals?'.No-they are not cannibals. Cannibilism in the true sense of the word implies an interspecies activity. These creatures cannot be considered human. They prey on humans, they do not prey on eachother. Thats the differance."

YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!! I tied first place!!

I'm so exited! The contest was devided into 4 age categories: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-17. I got put in the 12-14 category even though I'm now 15 because I hadn't turned 15 by the deadline. I ended up tying with another kid in my category (who happens to live only about 45 minutes away from me). I'm trying to get in contact with him.

Oh, yeah, and the prizes..
The main thing is that they're going to hook all the winners up with a professional animator at Dreamworks via internet, which will be really cool. The other prize is some software program, either NewTek's Aura, NewTek's Inspire 3D, or Macromedia Flash. They don't know which one will be sent to me, so I'm waiting to see... (pleaseohplease let it be Aura.)

My only complaint is this- I thought that you had to follow the story guidelines (egg falls out of sky, etc.), in order to be qualified. Apparantly not, because several of the winners didn't follow the guidelines at all. Oh, well. I'll keep that in mind next year. (Bwahaha..)

Thank you guys so much for your support! I'm really glad you liked it!!
(BTW Film Scorer, I just sent them the version with your music and now you're in the credits. )
