cast or mold? different things, a mold fits around the one you have and a cast would be a copy of the one you have.

if you hop over to my links page and scroll down to the WWII links at the bottom you can see some silicone molds i did of some guns. I'll be molding a glock airsoft within the week for a the same guy i made those for. but thats not the point...

the best thing to do would be to fingure out what you'll be making the copies out of first. if its a urethane material DONT use a urethane molding product. i personally used silicone for those molds since a couple were off of real guns, so i wanted to make sure i didnt screw them up in any way. look at those pics of the molds i have on my page to see what they look like, my description may be a bit confusing

with an airsoft i'd test some clear 100% silicone caulking (clear if possible) on a hidden are that you cant see well, just in case something happens to the plastic.
silicone caulking is meant to stick to things unlike molding silicone, so a very thin coat of vaseline put on and lightly wiped off with a cloth will help keep it from sticking to the gun. about 1/8" to 1/4" thick should do. if it works, then you can use that and save yourself lots of money. i would devide the gun in half with some clay (any kind really) with a very smooth flat edge then add some registration marks so both sides of the mold will match up. carefully apply the silicone to the gun forceing it into the details and eliminating any bubbles. coat the entire half of the gun and let it dry. when thats done apply a plaster mother mold over top of the silicone, lett it dry then flip the gun over remove the clay. clean any of the clay from the gun vaseline the silicone and repeat the process. remember pour holes and pry points.

email if you need some better pics or help

i'm an idiot, i forgot to mention that smooth-on offers small starter kits that would probably have enough material to make the mold and at least one copy of the gun if its a pistol. the links on my FX page under one othe "supplies" sections
