This si my firsat time on this page. Any way, i'm here asking advise on how to make gunfire work real. You see, i'm making a war movie with some friends. I'm borrowing a couple riffels and stuff from my dad but since i'm only 15 he won't allow me to buy blank bullets! (sucks eh?)

Because of this i was wondering if anyone has a way to make realistic gunfire at a REALLY ande i mean low as possible price.

Also because i'm really new at this, expect many messages from me. Thanks

Please, Please, Please, Please tell me that your kidding about that blackcat advice, that is the most irresponsible advice I have ever heard... besides the end of a plastic gun exploding shrapnel into the eyeballs of the user hardly looks like fireing a gun. If you have acess to a computer drawn in barrel flashes work well otherwise a sound effect with proper recoil movement works fine- real guns don't have flame coming 2 feet out of the barrell anyways.

I was watching Dateline the other day and they were airing a story about the first guy in America to recieve a hand transplant. Do you know how he lost his hand original hand to begin with? Get this... The guy was drunk and lighting M80's, which by the way are firecrackers that are the equivilant to 1/8 a stick of dynamite, and he didn't throw the stupid thing. That one M80 blew this guy's hand right off. This tells me two things.
1. Firecrackers are alot more destructive than their colorful wrappings let on.

2. Do we really want a guy to go down in the history books as the first person in America to receive a hand transplant to be some guy who decided to hold on to 1/8 of a stick of dynamite?

he didn't say to light M80s and put them in the gun barrel...he just said black cats...they really can't harm you if you are holding them either...maybe a little burn...(unless your hand is closed) When i was younger, I would put the black cats in the plastic guns and it worked fine...if you want to be safe then just cut the ends off so it only has half the power.

That's right KEVIN007. He didn't say any thing about lighting M80's or dynamite for that matter, but I just don't want anyone to get hurt.

I heard someone stuck a rake in his nostril. Donīt do that. It is very risky. <:-A

You're worried about firecrackers? What about a dad who lets his son use his real rifles for a movie? Whats that all about?

TwoGuns:
"What about a dad who lets his son use his real rifles for a movie? Whats that all about?"

Again the debate returns to the question of guns. What is wrong with a gun? Real or not. If someone wants to commit murder they are going to do it, if they have a gun or no.
If a kid is given a gun, supposing he has been taught how to handle it safely, does that automaticly make him a killer?
A gun is just as safe as anything else its the intent that is in question.
I own a 'Real AK47' which incidently I will be using in a movie, does that make me dangerous? Yet some street punk who doesn't have a gun could mug and kill someone with his bare hands.
I'm sure the father in question knows all about the potential dangers of guns. And I'm also sure that he didn't just say "Ok kids take the guns and have fun"

Sorry if this is turning into a rant, but more and more, it seems as if the blame is shifting to the gun, not the person.

AT one time not long ago (early 60's) guns were about 20 times more common than now, there were almost no gun laws, and kids didn't kill their fellow students on a regular basis.

Well, thats my two bits.
