ok...i know someone is gonna respond saying "make ur own effects...its easy and rewarding..." forget that. ive tried. they suck. for those of u who still think they can create their own sound effects without the proper equipment, ive got news for u. IT CANT BE DONE. certain mics need to be used, under certain room conditions to even INITIALLY capture the sound correctly. anyhow, for those of u that DO share my views: does anyone know of a good place where i can download sound effects for fighting, such as blocks, punches, falls, etc. and also, very importantly, sword clashing sound effects...REALLY need those. thanx |

sound effects aren't that hard to make, you just gotta know how to make em. heres a good one for punching. Put a stick of celery on a pillow and hit it with a stick, then record it. its sounds just like a guy getting punched in the face! Its how the pros do it (NO KIDDING!)Phil the Giant Robot ------------------ Winston Churchill once tried to predict the future, but stopped after awhile, saying, "The future is just one damned thing after another!"

To make a good sword sound effect........Ughn...ugh channeling.. ghost... of Andy ..Warhol... To paraphrase myself "Good indie film makers borrow, great indie film makers steal." There's a jillion medieval and kung-fu movies with huge swordfight scenes. Steal one or two "clangs!" at a time from a couple movies, you'll find the right one's somewhere. You can bet your tomato soup no one's going to notice. .uuhhgg....whoa... Bad, bad, bad ghost of Andy Warhol, you can't do that, it's dishonest. P.s. A real life punch to the face does NOT sound like smashed celery and I've the scar to prove it. |

Yes, but if your head was in a pillow being hit with a stick, then it would sound like celery. |
