Dude, chill. What exactly constitutes a bullet hit? As far as the general public is concerned it's basically an appearance of blood following a gunshot. That is it in it's most simplistic form. Want a cheap and easy shot? Try doing a cutaway between whoever is doing the shooting to the person getting shot having blood come out of the area he/she was shot. It won't give you that cool flesh rending effect but it works. Besides do you really need that complicated effects shot to tell your story? |

I don't know much about fake blood, but I do know 3D. You can get a Matrix-like bullet stopping effect pretty easily and cheaply. Bullets are really easy to model and quick to render. Just do it in your 3D program of choice (Strata Studio is the best mid-range 3D program, try MetaCreations' offerings for lower-end, Electric Image's for high-end). But you can do bullets on just about anything.Render the scene in front of a blue (or the color of your choice) background--it's the easiest bluescren you'll ever do--then just lay it over the desired footage. If you don't know 3D, this sounds intimidating, but it's really not. Learning basic 3D modeling may be the most useful skill for special effects these days. The Matrix didn't cost THAT much to make--now you know why. www.metacreations.com www.strata.com www.electricimage.com |
