Maybe real ropes covered in that red ceran wrap?

Or spray paint...

Or maybe, like some thick elastic, and ceran wrap (Red), so you can bounce back in...I don't know...just a brain fart

I used to run a wrestling league with about 20 or 30 kids. I designed a nice ring which i wont go into details about, but the ropes i will. First we tried hoses. The hose will go all around 4 posts then screw into itself. We eventually got thick cables, like power lines and they work sweet.

note: in tv wrestling the ropes are chains covered in casing.

We use bungee rope for our backyard ring. You might wrap a bunch of rubber bands in
whatever color elastic tape.

Real wrestling ropes are steel cable (two of these almost tore Mick "Cactus Jack" foley's ear off) or high test polymer (not too stretchy) climbing rope covered in padding, like pipe insulator, and cloth or just a few layers of cloth it's that hardcore sXXt. The cables are welded/tied to to screws that are attached to the posts by turnbuckles (A double sided bolt that when turned mkes the line taught, you can find them at any large hardware store). The turnbuckles are covered buy stuffed cushions.

Make a test bundle with bungee chords and tape if it seems/looks good enough try a full lenghth, then a side. All it really has to meet is your expectations.

See if you can make/get a rope sewn cover in pleather or vinyl. It'll look better.
