Hi I need help with a slasher movie is not relly a slasher film like but more of a murder movie.Any way the scene has a girl tied up with rope to a weight and being thrown into a lake(If you've seen Cabin by the Lake its like those scenes).

Now I can get the resources to do athe scene but I need a little help.

The scene starts with the girl being thrown in the lake,a shot of her going down screaming, the killer pulls her up by the hair, the killer kisses her and slits her throat and we see her body going down screaming and it disappers in the depths.

Now I need to know how to do this effect safely with a live girl without kill her and where to to do this effect

I'd say film in the shallows where she can bend her knees, preferably at night.

Where: in a shallow lake, where the shortest actor can stand up and have their chin above water.

How: Use the prop knife (not simply dull - NO EDGE & rounded!) with blood tubing on the off camera side trick. The actor playing the killer or an offscreen tech squirts fake blood through the tubing, which terminates right at the simulated "edge" of the prop knife. As the prop is draw across the throat (or any other exposed skin) it leaves a bloody trail, creating a very convincing effect very simply and cheaply.

Use Jeff's idea for the knife but for the weight just use a brick of styrofoam, tied around her waist then tell her to jump off. When she hits the water she won't sink or anything because it is just styrofoam. know what I mean?

When she goes down, have a tube pumping blood into the water, because if you really slit someones throat it would make a lot more blood that just a little line on her skin.
The water should look like the blood is welling up maybe with some bubbles as her last breath is being expended.

Good ideas- but don't use a styrofoam brick as it will not sink, so it'll look pretty stupid. If you can get a waterproof camcorder container add a point of view shot and maybe a close up as she drowns.
