I need to make this war movie that I'm planning really good.I have most of it planned out and will write the script soon.I need help on how to do bullet hits and large explosions with compressed air.I also need help with my capture card.My capture card is the ATI All in Wonder card.I can't get it to capture the video. It will capture the single frames and images but not the moving video.Hope someone can help me soon.

Show a soldier fire in a over-the-shoulder
shot or whatever. Then cut to the other soldier. I would try water balloons filled with tomato paste and an M-60 with a waterproof fuse sticking out of the end of the balloon so the cut is seemless.

Here's some tips in no particular order I learned while doing a war movie.

1.) Use a board and a fulcrum (Spielberg did it as a kid and his war movies ruled even then) and put DRY, VERY DRY dirt on the one end. Have someone or something slam the one end down and it creates a huge cloud. Experiment with this and you can create mortar-sized safe explosions. The soldier can run by it, set it off and fly off to the side as if he was hit by it. It looks UNBELIEVABLE when combined with sound fx and it's basically free.

2.) Make an air compressor system (try http://www.exposure.co.uk/eejit/blood/index.html) for body hits. You could also use the same thing for bullet hits in the ground, but I just used fireworks. That's illegal and potentially dangerous, so only use it far from people and flammable stuff.

I forgot the third...it had something to do with gun flashes...I'll remember it eventually...if you wanna know, just ask...

All times are ET (US)
