Hey guys, I'm filming a project that involves a really fancy mansion. Is it possible to shoot the actors in a completly bluescreen room and import a 3DMax world? I know that it wouldn't look perfect but is it possible?

yes its possable. Just making a realist looking mantion would be tuff. If you want a shot of the mantion from far away, so you can see it, that would work. Just import a real sky background and keep the camera far away so it doesnt really need much detail |

To do it in MAX you would have to be very carefull. If you want it to look good you need to match the lighting of your actors with the lighting of the house. Secondly you have to match the exact coordinates of your camera in the real world to the camera in your max scene. You'll use the camera match feature in MAX. Remember to texture everything as best you can in MAX. Dont do a mickey mouse job either, try as hard as you can to give them good color textures with bump, shin maps. Good luck... if you need help go to 3d cafe tutorials |

What it is, is the actors just walk through one room of the mansion and then they go into another room that's a ghetto tenement. I have the set for the tenement so all I need is the mansion set.So do you think I could pull it off, or should I try something else? |
