When the old Ryan grovels to his knees before the grave, his family is gathered around him. After he relives D-Day in the flashback, his family is in the background.
What happened!?

Nitpicker.  Okay, well, it seemed that his flashback took some time. I mean, not 2 hours, but a while. From my memory the family looked more like they were almost doing their own thing. Maybe after a minute or two of old Ryan sittin there they backed up and let him alone. Then when he was done they came back to him. | |
