Use a guide wire! It will not be seen in the shot if you paint it black. With this set up you can safely fire the rocket within inches of the actors. Tie one end of the wire where you want the rocket to end up, the other end from where it is being launched. Using a model rocket equiped with an engine that does NOT have an ejection charge, launch the rocket down the wire - it will travel from point a to point b straight as an arrow. It's a good idea to time this out so that you only use an engine that will burn out before the rocket stops flying.
