Let us start with a Zombie. Hell, if you screw it up, who's gonna know?
(If these methods don't work, get your actor on a three day bender. They'll sure act like a Zombie!) Posted by david on Tuesday, 24 March 1998, at 7:17 a.m., in response to Zombie make-up --
What to use? what to do?, posted by Paul Klein on Tuesday, 24 March 1998, at 12:16 a.m.
Hi Paul,
Grease paint and gelatin are the quickest and eazyest things to use for zombies. Do a heavy old age
make-up with the grease paint then mix some Knox gelatin with hot water, when the gelatin is cool
enough to not burn your skin, you can test it on your wrist, brush it all over your face, neck, ears ect.
then powder it with a translucent powder.
Do several layers and on the last one use a damp cloth or paper towel to remove the excess
powder, I sumetimes leave the excess on it gives the look of dry dead skin. You then can tare holes
in the gelatin skin to make it look like it is rotting and falling off.
Color in the tares and if you want put a little blood in them. This is one way to make a zombie the
others are more complex like using latex and cotton, mortician's wax, to a foam rubber prosthetic.
You can find links on this site to suppliers who have books and videos on how to do basic make-up
to the more complex. I hope this helps.
Have fun.
David
