ok, to go with the glock props i'm making i need an appropriate sound, or at least similar. 9mm of course.its not for me, but i'm trying to find something for him. dont feel like going to the range and trying to record it myself, since i'm clueless to sound work, at least on the technical side of things. Dont want to spend the cash. possibly trade for it, post back or email anyone? later TOm

go to http://www.findsounds.com/ and simply type in what you are looking for. much faster, easier, and will sound a hell of a lot better. Make sure though, when entering your search criteria, that you use at least 16 bit wavs at a sampling rate of no less than 22,500 Hz. |

Do that. I love the ease of it. And, with some searching and going through sounds, you can find some pretty good ones. |

If you have video games use their wave files. Rainbow 6 has good sounds. |

Be careful w/ copyright issues when using sound effects from games.Try and visit a gun range and ask the owner/manager if you could record sounds of people shooting If your nice, they will probably say OK. Make sure to bring a good microphone and a DAT/Minidisc player. While your at it, just bring a video camera so you can record the muzzle flashes (if any) as well, so you can have your own, copyright-free flashes for use in rotoscoping. ------------------ -DSS- Director, Producer, Editor, and Actor of Counter-Strike: The Movie |

great ideas, but it wasnt for me, and i really didnt have time to go out to any ranges. most of the sound in games doesnt impress me enough to think of ripping it off, although there are a few things i've thought about anyway...later Tom ------------------ What everyone seems to forget is that once we look past race, religion, gender, and all that, everyone on this planet is first and foremost... ...a PERSON new and improved links(added to 02/11/01) |

I agree, many sounds in games are created/modified on the computer, even though they sound pretty real. When you place sounds from games in movies, they audio usually does not sound consistant because you have 1 audio track from the mic(s) of your video and another from the sound file. Thats why I love recording real gun shots on video, becuase the sound is very consistant with the audio.------------------ -DSS- Director, Producer, Editor, and Actor of Counter-Strike: The Movie |

Been away for a while! Sorry 'bout the size of the file. I didn't realize the amount of dead air in the clip! But I'm glad it met your needs! Just curious, where did you get your 3D program knowledge? ------------------ www.jabinya.com | |
