Hi, I just watched the Evil Dead commentary track and Sam Raimi said that in order to achieve the zombies' voices, they used a harmonizer to adjust the actors' voices. Is there a sound program that does this?------------------ -kickin it live 9 to 5 |

There should be, but since I do most of my sound work with traditional equipment (no software) then I wouldn't know where to go. There might be a plugin for Sound Forge that can do it.Isaiah ------------------ Isaiah Eyre, Sound Guy "I don't know anything about music. I am not exactly sure what a Harmonizer is, so I cant tell you for sure how to do it. I think it is a device which takes a voice or other sound signal, and generates another sound, either higher or lower than the orignal, then mixes them together. Prism, If I am off, please tell me. If this is right, you can duplicate that effect by simply taking your base sound, copying it to a new window and then, raisng or lowering the pitch while preseving the duration, then mixing them together again. I just checked, and Goldwave has the capability to do this. If I am off as to what a Harmonizer is, please let me know, and I will find a way to do it with the software. Thanks. Right on the money, dude... your method sounds feasible, but a little tedious. It will work, though. No doubt. That's basically what a harmonizer does, only a real rack-mount effects processor would do it all in real-time. Like my effects processor that I use for recording. I don't have to wait 2 minutes to add reverb to a recording. I get to hear it, tweak it, etc. all in real time. That's why I prefer traditional equipment over software stuff. I try to avoid computers when it comes to basic recording.Isaiah ------------------ Isaiah Eyre, Sound Guy "I don't know anything about music. Thanks guys. Prism, I can understand where you're coming from but it's much cheaper to work with a computer and right now I'm pretty mcuh broke.------------------ -kickin it live 9 to 5 |
