Well the sabres were done with photoshop, using a process called rotoscoping i went frame by frame drawing in each line and then added a glow-took about 7-8 hours total. The guns used were bb guns bought at big k-mart. These answer your questions?

SI -- here's my tutorial on how to do it: http://freeweb.pdq.net/smokin/rotoscope/

LoGiK -- Can't wait to see the finished product! (At the moment I'm on my girlfriend's underpowered Presario at 28.8 so I'll have to check it out later this morning...)

Hey Darrel, I noticed you included my movies on your rotoscopin tutorial. Thanks dood. I'm not sure if you know but I originally learned the concept of rotoscoping from your extremely informative tutorial. However, I feel I have dragged out the sabre thing too much, and we are now moving on to Dragon Ball Z types of effects(flying, electric beams, huge explosions, lightning fast fighting). This will pose a challenge but that's what we like right? If anyone has taken this path yet please tell me any bumps you may have encountered. -Thanks again

By the way, I really like your blue screening page. I recently aquired a green screen myself(using construction paper). It takes a little while to tweak but I'm sure your tutorial will prove useful once again.

Thanks, LoGiK! Your saber movie looks great.

But I seem to have a problem on my Compaq Deskpro at work where it will play it a greatly reduced frame rate. I can make it stop that by maximizing and minimizing the window a few times... I wonder if it's a bug in WiMP (Windows Media Player). Can you recommend another MPEG player?

Hey Logik, great work on that fight. My friends and I are all really impressed and are inspired to do more computer effects in our future projects. I especially like the flashes when the sabers make contact. I noticed on "The Duel" (which, don't get me wrong, is a fine peice of work) that when the sabers hit one another, the flash looked really fake and computer generated. No ofense to the makers; it really was cool.

Keep up the good work.

Use premiere to convert it to a filmstrip
*WARNING* The filmstrip file is much larger than the avi or whatever you're converting, be sure to have lots of ram or keep the files small
