Ok, I have the secret to realistic stage blood. It involves the cornsyrup and food coloring type. To "fix" this blood You need to add condensed milk or a liguid coffee creamer(not the pwder kind). This not only makes it opaque in the way blood is opaque but it gives it a texture that's a lot like blood. If it changes the color to much just add more food coloring till you get the right color. Water is NOT optional for the blood to
look, feel, and flow realisticly. Cornsyrup IS thicker than real blood. Do you remember the last time you pricked your finger or whatever. That's how thick it should be. Not real thick, but not real thin. Stir it up well until it's mixed so well that all the liquids have become one. Then place it in a covered container and let it sit overnight.
That's about it. Play around with it awhile.
You might not get it perfect at first but the more you play with it the better it will look.

If you plan on keeping this mixture any length of time you probably need to refrigerate it to keep it from getting a smell.

PS Especially if anyone will be using it in their mouth.

yes you do. It's probably better to mix it without the condensed milk and let it sit. Then add the condensed milk and put it in a refrigerator.
