1 pint cornsyrup, 1 oz. red food coloring, 2 1/2 tsp. yellow food coloring, 1 drop green food coloring, zinc oxide powder, and photo-flo(optional, do not use in mouth)or you could use hydro's tide blood. non-bleach tide, 1 oz. red food coloring, 1 drop blue.

Actually I am a member of scream. The blood recipes over there aren't anywhere as realistic to the ones I just posted.

The band GWAR has a bit of experience in the blood area and they use a gelatin used in ice cream - they say the kayro syrup makes a sticky mess and shorts electrical equipment but their recipie just "dries up and blows away, like snot' after usage. Having been sprayed with it many times, I can also attest to it's washability - it even came out of my white cotton t-shirt. Dig around for the GWAR site, they're friendly folk and answer just about any question!

The problem is, when blood dries it doesn't blow away. It sticks to things. If you're doing a movie where some people have drying blood on them it will look VERY unrealistic.

A friend of mine told me his recipe. red food coloring green food coloring corn syrup and some clear dishwashing soap to thin it out I'm not too sure how much of each to put in, but just experiment and see what you come up with. I wouldn't suggest using a whole lot of green though, that's just to change the color of the blood a little bit.

Dishwashing soap is NOT a good way to thin it out. The 2 recipes I posted above are still better. The cornsyrup one THAT I POSTED is used in most movies.P.S. I have tried dish soap
