Topic: Excorcist Effect? 180 degree head turn.

Hi I'm not sure if it's possible to do or not, but I'm planning on a teacher writing on the blackboard. When she asks the question instead of turning around her head does the 180 trick. Anyone got any ideas on how to do this? |

If I remember correctly they used a doll with a motorized head for the movie. What knid of shot did you want on her? Full body? Just the upper body? Across the room? Depending on the shot and what she's wearing I have a few ideas. if it's just an upper body shot you could use a maniqunn (so I can't spell...) and just dress it up and do some make-up to look right. just do it quick and then cut to a shot of her full body with the head on backwards (costuming) Other wise I have another idea that I thought of years ago, (2?), that I just can't think of right now. OK, well, hope that helps, have fun, and ask if I wasn't clear,

You want low budget? You got it...Establish your scene with the teacher writing on the black board. Cut to a shot from the point of view of the chalkboard (Teacher's face close to the camera and you can see the students over her shoulder). Have her turn her head as far to one side as she can. CUT to the point of view of the students, but still a close up of the teacher. Have the actress put her clothes on BACKWARDS. Have her start with her head turned to the side and then have her look straight ahead.
I sugest you keep it a close shot on her face, because there are some things that at rather hard to hide on the female body that would give away the fact that you are not looking at her back. [This message has been edited by EricM (edited 03-28-2000).] |

have her write on the blackboard, and stop. Then do her against a bluescreen with her head covered in blue, and her in the same position, with her body covered in blue, turning around. Composite the shots, and there you go! | |
