I have a scene with a girl laying in a pool of blood with her face to the ground. I really wanted it too look like the blood is coming out of her head so I need some in her hair. The blood mix I have stains everything and looks kinda unsafe in hair, so does anyone have any reccomendations? |

There are some recipees out there that don't stain if you remove them within a minute or two. I know there is one with a pepermint flavouring that doesn't. |

Is your actor blonde? I don't think the food-dye based blood will stain on a dark haired person. Just have water or a least a damp towel so she can get it off right away, like Loring said. |

Yeah actually she is blonde. But this recipee I have is made from some powder. It looks so much better than the food coloring recipee, but if that comes out of hair I guess I have no choice. And I don't have a budget and I really don't feel like spending money on a decent wig that the actress will have to wear in all her scenes. |

Why will she have to wear the wig in all her scenes? |

so theres not a sudden change in her hair when she is bleeding from the head. not to mention a convincing wig would cost a whole heck of alot of money. |

Many make up companies sell a product called Barrier Cream (or something similar, depending on the supplier/manufacturer.) It is used to prevent staining by strong pigments, or to make extremely strong adhesives easier to use, or just to put on your hands before performing a make up job to make clean up fast and easy. I find it very handy and have even used it on my hands when painting the walls in my house to make clean up easy.A version of this product is available from some industrial supply companies sold under the name of "Invisible Gloves" ------------------ Jeff F - Magic and FX Amazing the Masses

Actually, that's a good idea. Maybe petroleum jelly in a thin rubbed in bit in her hair might work. |

Is it so much of a sacrifice for her to have slightly red hair for a week? |
