If your scene doesn't involve the blood splattering on anything including the actor's face and chin, etc., try this:1. film the shot of your actor going through the motions of the nosebleed.
2. setup a black velvet background (the least light absorbing material), use a bottle or syringe and fill it with your blood, and while watching your actor on a monitor, try to match the spots and action to where the blood pours out. You could also pour the blood down a black wighead, if you wanted to give the stream some geometry.
3. composite the two in After FX, using alpha channels and tracking.
I haven't actually done this myself, but it's similar to how they got the water splashing under the T-Rex's feet in Jurrasic Park.
In the near future, I'm going to build an alpha channel clip library of splashes, dust, smoke, etc.
Good luck!
