what does 'window burns' mean? apparently its some kind of process in super8... but what does it look like?"We can transfer Super 8 to Digital beta, beta sp, Pal Beta SP, 3/4" SP, 3/4" SVHS and VHS. Time code and window burns are also available." (-from the SUPER8SOUND page) |

I believe a "Window Burn" is where the time code is "burned" into the picture, not placed below it in the "letterboxed" black area... But then again, I might be wrong, I do light myself on fire for money and a window burn could be crashing through a window aflame...Nick |

Yes, it is when the time code numbers are placed into the picture. often used with VHS dubs of footage...so you can watch and log your footage at home if it is on say...beta sp. |

That is just a softedged wipe kept close to the edge of the image. The wider and the softer the wipe the more gradient the effect is.jd
