That's how ya do it. It is hard to get it so it is thin and not all bumpy, but just keep working at it.
By the way, don't let it get too hot, or it will burn the actor. Test it on your wrist first.

I've seen the same thing with many different names, Friendly Plastic, FX Gel, and the one I bought was Skin FX. It said to heat by water, but I found if you microwave for 10 seconds without the cap on it will melt. BE CAREFUL though because although this way is quicker and less messy, it is HOT to the touch at first.

Also I found that you can put liquid latex on top to blend with skin. I Made a cut with a small oval crater in the center. I filled that with a little bit of corn syrup blood (use corn syrup or thick blood, regular will run and blend into the Latex and turn it rose colored ruining the blending). Then when the latex dries you can pull it like skin and the blood will drip out when the latex rips.

That's all the expirementing I've done with the stuff so far. Please post or email me more about this, I'd like to see what else this stuff can do.

A note: Friendly plastic is not a gel. All the others are just gelatin with somewhat the same formula, but Friendly plastic is a rigid plastic. It is used almost the same way, but for props and such, not for on the skin. Makes good claws and horns, and you can use it over and over. I have even made knives from this plastic, and it looked real.
