What kind of clay do you guys/gals use for claymation? How easy is it to get clay out of cloth, if you are using it cloth for background?

Thanks,
Tn

The clay is called Plasticine, and is available in many colors from most of the artist equipment shops.

Nick Park &co from Aardman use Clay from

If I understood correctly, you plan to shoot the animation from above with cloth as a background? If so, itīs better to use a hard material than cloth. A good way is to animate on a sheet of glass that is angled a little bit so that you can put cloth or a painting or whatever behind it to act as a background, but never get in touch with the clay.

Thanks! I'm using Van Aken's clay too I was just wondering what others used. I was just wondering if clay comes off of cloth because I'm afraid of accidently getting some on it. Anyway, thanks again.
