Hey we are working on a suspensful movie, we have a very cheap camera, so we have to play the sound effects when we are recording the film. We were wondering if there were any CD's that we could play while recording our movie. Also, where can you get a camera that can record sound we transfering your film to a VHS tape. Thanks You for all your help. I know that this isn't a very interesting topic, but please write back as soon as possible!!!!

AS far as suspense music goes...if you want some choral stuff, get yerself any classical CD's of "Requiem" music (Mozart and Verdi) are my favorites. You can pick up the CD for about 6 bucks at Virgin or your CD store of choice. It is very eerie and very spooky.

I personally would not recommend trying play the incidental music at the same time that you are filming... too many problems.

However, most camcorders these days come with composite imputs...for a really low budget way of mixing the sound. Input the music only on 1 speaker....you'll lose that channel of sound but you'll be able still hear it on the other channel...on a mono set it should be a good fake.

Work with what you got.

Play the SFX while you're taping? Thats gotta be bad. When I first started making movies I bought a SFX mixer at Best Buy. It doesnt matter what type of camera you have, it should work.(It tapes onto your VCR) It lets you do voiceovers also and its like $40. Sorry this really doesnt answer the suspense music question...

A really great suspensful song is called "Bug Tunnel and Death Trap." It's from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It plays when indy and his sidekick are stuck in the death trap with the cieling that is slowly lowering to the floor. It is VERY dramatic and really gets the blood going. It works great for chases and impending doom.
