Hello,I apologize if this post seems a bit long-winded, but I think I would be better off explaining exactly what my trouble is. My difficulty is trying to "print to tape" after I have captured a file from my Canon DV camcorder with Adobe Premiere 5.1 and applied special effects to it. What I did was film a space ship model in front of a blue screen with the DV camcorder. I then captured it with no problem. Next I made a BMP image of a starfield and dropped it on video 1 and stretched it out to the same length as the ship in front of the blue screen. I had no problem keying out the blue and superimposing it over the starfield. I saved it as an MOV file. The problem is, when I play that new file, it doesn't appear on my camera's viewscreen and I can't export it to the camera. I'm so close! I hope someone can help me! Thanks in advance, Chris P.S: This is a great site and I've learned a lot from it. Keep up the good work! |

Seems like your capture card is not outputting the DV stream for some reason. Make sure Premiere detects your camera (go into the preferences, there's a section for the camcorder control). What brand is your capture card? |

You cant export it as a .mov file, it must be the same codec as you capture with. Export the movie in premiere using the correct codec, as a AVI file. Also there is probably software you need to use in order to print to tape. Like with my DV200 capture card i have to export the movie, then open it in DVTOOLS and export from there. | |
