i was looking around for some ElectroLuminescent wire and sheets, i found a bunch of sites, and i think that it has some potential in the area of model lighting.i was just curious if anyone had used it in the past...some of the cheaper kits could be used, possibly in conjunction with fiber optics, i think. heres a few links http://www.beingseen.com/ (EL lighting) http://www.softneon.com/ (EL lighting) http://www.coolwireusa.com/ (EL lighting) http://www.culttvman.com/modelingtvsf.html (good place for regular modeling tech i think) http://www.toddsfiber.com/ (fiber optics) http://www.auroralites.com/ (EL lighting)

I used fiber optics once to illuminate a small model of a spaceship and it looked very good What i actually did was use the fiber optics to make it look as if there where hundreds of tiny windows around the spaceship and it looked very good ------------------ .Benny. .CGI & Film Director. .Taurus Filmproductions. http://taurusfilmprod.hollywood.com/ Email me: C_Keeper@hotmail.com

yeah, thats what i was getting at. you can run the FO's off of the EL sheet (or wire).the cool thing is that you can splice the wire with regular copper wire, so that its not lit the whole way, plus it doesnt generate much heat anyword on that mail benny? later TOm

What i used to illuminate the FO was a bunch of tiny diodes in one end of the FO worked dang good but the EL should work just fine for the same purpose. Use diffrent colors for cool effects as well This is like the perfect solution to light up a model of a star destroyer ála Star Wars.I have been looking at the picture you sent and some additional info will be sent within days

very cool stuff. I got some from being seen. runs cool, and looks great. if someone had any desire to make an accurate copy of the "neon batmobile" this is the stuff to use.i wonder how the sheet would look as a lightsaber "blade" keep it in mind kiddies if it's cheap enough i may be trying it out myself...although wire wrapped tightly around and sealed with silicone might just work too...i'll keep you posted later TOm ------------------ What everyone seems to forget is that once we look past race, religion, gender, and all that, everyone on this planet is first and foremost... ...a PERSON
