Topic: Gun Props & Question on AfterEffects

1.) I am looking for guns to use as props in a movie. They would be modern guns (ie 9mm & machine guns). Nothing too expensive, and I dont want to use real guns. I looked at toysrus and stores like that for plastic guns but they dont sell anything that looks real anymore. Do you know where I can find real-looking guns? Is there prop stores that would sell this, or anyplace where I could order them or something? Also, I do not have a big budget (i cant afford IAR $150, plus price of blanks and clips, etc..) Plastic is fine. I am thinking $15 a gun maybe??
2.) Does Adobe AfterEffects require premiere, or could I use it with MediaStudio?

I found this really good page that sold like MP-5's and AK-47's for 60 bucks or something, they had a lot more guns, Ill try to find the page again. |

After Effcts is a stand alone app. It doesn't matter what prg you use to edit. |

Some catalogs like "US Cavalry" sell rubber taining weapons. They come in the same size and shape as 9mm Baretta, MP5, AR-15 etc...
They are cheap!! They come in red rubber...but I think you should be able to spray paint them black or metallic for your film.

I get my guns at the dollar store. I've got several Uzi's and machine guns there. I also got a couple of 9mm, pistol type guns at Rite-Aid, I'm not sure if you have that store there or not. That's where I get mine, hoped I could help you. |

man 'o man i sense a growing need for prop weapons...i may just have to go out and mold a bunch....although with the dismal failure and lack on interest in those grenades i have i may give it a second though...but anyone whos interested feel free to email
